DISCOVER THE BENEFITS
With so many options available, it can be tricky trying to choose the right instrument.
Here are some of the reasons why the drums might be the perfect choice for you:
Drumming is good for your brain: Evidence shows that there are many health benefits to playing the drums. Drumming has a positive impact on the brain and can aid in improved concentration, develop fine motor-skills and coordination whilst relieving stress and anxiety, helping you to slow down.
Drumming is immediate: A primal and instinctive instrument, the drums deliver an immediate effect which appeals to children who want instantaneous results. (Perfect for our Juniors aged 5-10)
Drumming is social: Music is communication and playing the drums is a highly interactive instrument which creates connections between people, fosters friendships and develops valuable team-building and problem-solving skills. Learning musical techniques, understanding rythmn and keeping time teaches you how to listen, learn when to sit back and support others, and when to have your own moment.

MEET YOUR TUTOR
Born to classical musicians, Edwina Wyatt developed a love of music at an early age. However, it wasn’t until she discovered the drums that she truly connected with an instrument. A versatile musician, Edwina draws her influences from an eclectic range of genres, enabling her to offer her students an introduction to a range of different musical styles including rock, pop, hip-hop, funk, grunge, metal, punk and jazz fusion.
An experienced high school teacher, Edwina takes an inquiry based, student-led approach to teaching and approaches music as both an art and a discipline. She aims to build strong technique and foster a love and appreciation for music and performance. Her lessons are fun, innovative, intuitive and highly differentiated to accommodate each student’s particular goals, needs, interests and musical tastes. Edwina encourages players to be creative with their practice, find their own drum identity and explore what makes them unique as a player.
